Lesson 38

Hi,

I feel that today's lesson was a real beginning of the course - with not many pages and was not so much time-taking. I had to remember 9 sentences word to word and now, during the day, I have to check if I really did it. We will see :P

I am excited that FINALLY something is happening. Still I feel it should be much faster to remember all of this stuff - but hey... I have still 13 lessons to complete the fourth course. So that is all for today.

Lesson 37

Hello,

Today was very funny and quite short lesson about remembering 25 anecdotes. I enjoyed them very much (specially a joke about CIA agent). I am really happy that the old, good style of the course came back on place.

This lesson was quite similar to lesson 16, nothing new was here, small reminder I'd say. But as I saw a moment ago - the tomorrow's lesson will be veeeery different. Finally !!! :D:D:D

Lesson 36

Hi all,

I am so happy - old good course is back - no more fillres such as the third course. And one more thing - you don't have to do the previous one if you're not interested. As for now (the first lesson of the fourth course of GMS)  it was mentioned that that you (and I) need only the first two courses completed.

 So I feel that I am on the right track again. And motivated. I've got again this feeling of believing that this course is not some scam taking a lot of time and so on...

Now about the lesson - I liked it a lot because it was a concrete one. Easy to follow and well explained exercises, few mistakes is here also ( they used "Ice" as FC for "October" - Why is that? - before [in Lesson 11] it was a pumpkin so I am using it here also (original FC). This lesson wasn't difficult at all.

After the third course I lost my momentum and concentration so probably I need to start again "Psycho-technical exercises". I had a break also with Memory Master - but today is a new day and I'll start everything all over again. :D

Lessons 33-35 - THIRD COURSE COMPLETED

The fird course of GMS is... boring, badly written and a little out of date. I am happy and excited that it's over and finally - I will start (today or tomorrow) the coure of the course - "Textual Information Memorization" - (112 pages).

If you really want to learn a language try and google "Rosetta Stone" (advised also by Spawnofares). I've checked it lately and it is much more effective, not so boring and created in a lot better way - specially for the pronunciation and understanding - course. You can find it in many places in the web so there is no problem with getting it. But...check some ways of remembering the words by GMS - I liked it a lot.

Lessons 30-32

Hi all,

Sorry for not updating this blog - it is mostly because of my BIG disappointment by third course of Phenomenal Memory Course. I will explain why - first of all it is very badly written - many words and sentences is not translated (I am doing russian as in the course). Second thing is the method of learning - because I cannot call it memorizing.

It is like this - find an image for a sentence, read it and repeat 8-10 times. It should be remembered and connect it to support image in Cicero Method. Then repeat it after 40 minutes, then... and so on. It is NOT memorizing it is learning with little help of mnemonics. In my case it doesn't work so fast and it takes too much time and also too many mistakes.

That is why I'll probably "skip" this course as Spawnofares did.


I will try to contact with him and ask what is necessary to know to continue the rest of lessons without this third course. It is because of those reasons I didn't write anything - I was fighting with myself so much to do any exercises... I am disappointed and I am trying to believe that this method won't be the only one to learn how to remember books etc.
