Lesson 24 (Second Course) - COMPLETED

Hi,

Today I officially completed the Second Course of GMS called "Your First Data Base". I did the test in more less 20-25 minutes and I did one, really stupid mistake - I thought one number\picture and wrote down the other one... :P

Now I am very happy that I can remember so many dates, phones and informations, but on the other hand I am happy that tomorrow (or the day after tomorrow) I won't have to repeat it all over from the beginning. And I hope after I will be able to memorize much faster !!!

Today morning I did recollection from 1.1.1. as I wrote yesterday and after that I was so tired that I didn't do MMaster. But... for sure I will play with tonight and tomorrow. So the second level of GMS is completed. Now I cannot wait the time of "Textual Information Memorization" course - the CORE of GMS - from lesson 36. Of course it is no sense without basics to go directly to this lesson. Anyway... it's coming very soon :D

Lesson 23

Hi all,

Today I completed lesson 23, which was very easy and short - it took me less than 30 minutes (because there were just few things to remember). Tomorrow in the morning I'll make a general repeat and in the evening or late afternoon I'll make the test (Lesson 24).

So few last words about the second course of phenomenal memory GMS... It was not so time taking as previous course, was much more interesting, stabilizing FC ( shit I need to do more MMaster, so tomorrow morning I'll do warm-up with FC cards, then MMaster few times and then finally total recalling from 1.1.1 till end).

After the test as a reward I think I'll make 1 day of break - this week I did 6 lessons (of course if I'll make tomorrow lesson 24 - what is sure :P ) !!!!!!

Now I hope I'll enjoy the test tomorrow.

Lessons 21-22

Hello,

Yesterday and today I finished 2 lessons. They were quite easy for me. Lesson 21 was about statistics, phone codes and so on and generally was very easy. It took me less than an hour. I wanted to continue and was ready to study lesson 22, but the rule of the course is - one lesson a day. so I waited 24hrs to finish even the next one, which was even easier (don't be scared of number of pages). But you know what? It is amazing what is now for me easy, hahaha.

The last evening I did total recall from 1.1.1. and it took me a lot of time (+ fixing some forgotten connections). MMaster is behind again, argh....

Just one more lesson and finally the test :D

Giordano Bruno - biography

I've just found 3 biographies of Giordano Bruno (the GMS system is based on his work). Also Gianni Golfera and his memory system is based mostly on Bruno's works. Check this out if you are a little interested in the mnemonics and history:

Biography no.1

Biography no.2

Biography no.3

Giordano Bruno - amazing medieval genius burnt alive... I hope you'll enjoy it.

Lesson 20

Huge progress in MMaster and also quite easy lesson. I have some concentration problems, but from tomorrow I'll start to train myself as it was advised during the first course.

During this lesson the biggest problem for me was again english language - medicine in foreign language is twice more complicated !!! I had to find the understandable definitions first, then learn them. How good it is we live in times where to find the medical dictionary in the internet is not so difficult.

As I mentioned before somehow I have some lacks of concentration from time to time - and I am planning on dealing with it very soon. My imagination now is really sharp, sometimes I am shocked that I can see things in such details.

Lesson was also about remembering train timetable and lifespans of famous people - I can honestly say it took me maybe 5 minutes to do both of the exercises - piece of cake!

Now, I must do just 3 more lessons and then the test. I think it is the first time in my life when I am impatiently waiting for the test, hahaha......

Lesson 19

Hello,
What a lesson !!! I wish I had GMS during my school years - I would be less stressful during during mathematics and geometry. Honestly I've never liked those schemes, patterns and so on... but with GMS it is a lot easier to remember all of them.

Of course now it's too late for me (I mean the school years) - but really - if you're still studying or having something that requires knowing all of this math-stuff :P - than GMS is for you - veeeeery helpful. It took me a little over 1 hour to do this lesson - because of my temporary lack of concentration. In one of the exercises there was to imagine a scales. And I remember that during my childhood it looked more less like that :
And when I imagined that picture I started reminding myself good, old times and how many things now is different. Anyway... Now left just 4 more lessons and the test. Nice :D  My MMaster progress is getting better and better. Still I've never had a perfect recollection, but I feel it will happen very soon. Also I am going to (in 1-2 days) change the timer from 6 sec. to 3 or 4. I feel it's now little too slow pace during connceting images.

My few thoughts on how to study

Answering the question - what am I doing when I am not posting here is simple - I am not getting lazy, procrastinate or else - simply I am repeating a lot and using the material in a daily life situations.

I have also the advise for some of you on "how to survive" the first few lessons and "how to continue" ... This is very simple: change the pace of the lessons. Really it is no sense to make one lesson a day for a period of 4 days and then nothing for a week or so, then again one lesson for a week and then nothing again. Slower doesn't mean worse. It's better to spend an hour a day doing GMS and FCs then nothing or with too intensive (and irregular) pace. I am not saying it is not possible - it is - but really... The secret here lies in regularity. It is like going to the gym - you cannot take all of the strong exercises during the first day in gym (even after a week). You need a time - and same is with GMS. So do it's slower but better. I am doing the course with a lot of small steps - but still doing progress. Every day I am doing something - repeating, studying, training MMaster...
Tomorrow you'll find here my new post about lesson 19 and my quite big progress in MMaster.

Lesson 18

Hello,

This is my raport on lesson 18. I can honestly say it was a fun for me to study this lesson. I don't know why, but even so... It was very interesting one. It took me around 1h15-20min. - of course also because of translating english words to my native. But you know what? Sometimes my native language is very helpful - there are some words which I am using to fix and connect faster and easier way than in the course. Yuppie :P
Lesson has a lot of pages and not a lot to do -  just I had to connect images in a good way and I had no problem here. I liked also both ways of remembering foreign words and signs - but sometimes I feel it takes too much time to do all this stuff - 1h15 for just few words... huhhh, hopefully at the end of the course I will be able (I have to!) to do it much faster.

I also did yesterday huge repetition from 1.1.1. with all the details and it took me over an hour. After I did some MMaster, but my results were not so good - my average (at 40) is 3.6  - Failed, like program is calling it :D

Still I'll put MM tomorrow at 50 (6 sec. as always) - and sooner or later -  I'll do finally all correctly (of course the better is sooner).
Just 5 more lessons and I'll finish the second course. Cannot wait!!!!

Lesson 17 - COMPLETED

Hi,

I enjoyed this lesson, even so it was about astronomy in english. I had to translate and understand the definicions to my own language, than learn it in english. This lesson took me a little over 1h30 minutes, because of those translations - I think if person is interested in astronomy or (what I am certain) is from english speaking country - than this lesson will take much less time.

For me now the most timetaking is remembering everything from lesson 13 till 17... Buuu :( It is A LOT of informations which are surprisingly still there, in my head. I am also very happy, because the next lesson is about japanese language. I was always wondering how to remember those strange signs, hahaha. I must train more MMaster, I must !!! I was avoiding it because of my bad results there, but since today - I promised myself to do it as often as possible.

Lessons 15-16

Hi all,

during this busy for me week I've just finished lessons 15 and 16 but still tomorrow I'm going to finish also lesson 17 so the minimum of GMS will be done (3 lessons a week).

My head after lesson 15 was very tired and working like crazy machine :P
I still don't like history but the GMS' way is much easier - from beginning it seems kind of difficult and stupid-hard to remember that way. I think I must get used to the new-old-natural way of brain work. Still I didn't like so much the way of remembering people - I thought it'll be somehow easier, more "smart" way, so I fought a little here also.

Lesson 16 was a big fun for me mainly because of anecdotes at the end of the lesson. I liked the most the one about scotchman.

Both lessons took me around 2hrs each. I must start also MMaster again, because these days I had no laptop with me, just memo cards. My FC's are as for now almost perfectly memorized - I have only problems with 58 and sometimes 78.

From now on you can again expect from this blog regular raports on my progress (every 1-2 days).
